5 Reasons to Start Eating Impact Snacks

Here’s how we’re different:
1. Superfood Ingredients
Your diet has extraordinary impacts on your mental and physical well-being. That’s why our snack bars include nutrient-dense ingredients like kale, monk fruit, lion’s mane, and maca root. Although superfoods may not be superheroes, they do offer some pretty cool superpowers.
Our bars include nootropics (by adding lion’s mane), which are drugs naturally found in some plants that enhance cognitive function and reduce stress. We’ve also added maca root, an adaptogen (herbal medicinal substance) that helps prevent chemical, biological, and physical stressors. We could all use a natural boost of energy (especially if we want to *cough* challenge corporations that still produce excess plastic).

2. 100% Plant-Based Ingredients
Plant-based foods provide impressive health benefits by lowering the risk of type 2 diabetes, cognitive impairment, and cancer. Additionally, plant-based diets play a positive role for the environment. A study published in the National Center for Biotechnology Information reveals how there could be a 70% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and 50% reduction of water use—if the typical Western diet were more environmentally sustainable. There is certainly a lot of room for improvement, and plant-based diets are helping us in the right direction.
The cherry on top? Our snack bars comprise whole food ingredients that are unrefined and unprocessed (processed foods have an extensive list of health risks). Not to mention, our bars also have no artificial ingredients and no color preservatives!

3. Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free
Dairy, gluten, and soy are all common allergens, but that’s not the only reason why these ingredients aren’t invited to the club. Instead of using dairy products like whey, we use pea protein: this substitution doesn’t affect how your body builds muscles, plus pea protein is vegan! Moving on to gluten-free foods, the Mayo Clinic states how they can improve health and increase energy. You might want to pick up a few extra bars for your next adventure!
4. Carbon Negative
In order to be carbon negative, we need to reclaim 100% of the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions we emit. Of course, we’re overachievers—we reclaim 250% of our total CO2 emissions. How do we do this? We track and measure our emissions (thanks to a pretty neat company called Clearloop), then re-invest in renewable energies. Cleaning up the electricity grid will have positive long-term effects on our planet’s future, including the following: diversifying our energy supply, reducing air pollution, and creating economic development (manufacturing, installation, etc.).
Composting is an incredible way of reducing the burden of waste. By composting organic materials, we can significantly decrease methane emissions (that’s the stuff that heats up our atmosphere). Our bars’ packaging is designed to biodegrade into organic matter, which is why we use soy-based ink to fashion our wrappers (so no harmful chemicals are released into the environment). You can even eat our wrappers—we don’t recommend it, but it is made out of veggies!
